An Exciting New Concert Series Celebrating New Talent in a New Year.

Hastings International Piano is delighted to announce an exciting new concert series to celebrate the new year, performed by prizewinning pianists from around the globe, who are all now rising stars in the classical music world.

As we look forward to the 2021 Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition taking place in Hastings in June, we are reminded of the unprecedented times we live in and how music has continued to be a force for good throughout the past year.

The Celebration Concert Series is a monthly online concert featuring a former Hastings prizewinner and will be streamed at 7pm on the second Tuesday of each month, with the performances from the UK and around the world.

Tickets cost £5 and your purchase will help support our charity’s work.

Ian Roberts, Managing Director of Hastings International Piano says:
“We are so pleased to be able to bring our audiences, patrons and supporters something positive for the New Year. We will continue to support and nurture our prizewinners and wanted to invite many of them to perform again, wherever they are in the world. What better way to bring some joy, than to present world-class musicians, giving exciting concerts every month in the lead up to our 2021 Concerto Competition.”

The concert series begins on Tuesday 12th January with 2018 Winner Roman Kosyakov performing his Summer concert recorded in Sussex, England in the grounds of Fairlight Hall Country House with a programme of Beethoven, Medtner and Schumann.

Other pianists invited to give concerts during the series include Sylvia Jiang and Tzu-Yin Huang in the USA and Fumiya Koido in Japan.

The Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition has evolved from its earliest days as part of Hastings Music Festival to become an internationally renowned competition for young concert pianists from around the world, attracting 170 applicants in 2019 from nu-merous rounds of global auditions, 40 of which were invited to compete in Hastings. The next edition of the competition takes place in June 2021 in Hastings in Sussex, England.

To support the growth of audiences and educational outreach opportunities, Hastings International Piano produced the inaugural Hastings International Piano Festival, which took place over two weeks in February and March 2020.
